11 Days Jambay Lhakhang Bhutan Festival Tour

Sketch Itinerary

The 11 days Jambay Lhakhang Bhutan festival tour is held at the Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang valley proper, which was built in the 7th century for the revered Maitreya Buddha, the next compassion Buddha in waiting and is one of the oldest temples in the country. Masked dances and bonfires commemorate the establishment of this 7th century Lhakhang. The highlights of the Jambay Lhakhang festival is the fire ritual that is held at midnight where crowds gather to witness the ritual. A naked dance is also performed where the dancers only have their masks on.
